Trees

What size tree do I need?

Measure floor to ceiling and subtract 12 inches. That's most of it. Here's the rest, from a few thousand trees' worth of loading cars.

Start with your ceiling

Measure floor to ceiling right where the tree will stand. Then subtract 12 inches for the stand and the topper. That's your tree.

9 ft ceiling7–8 ft tree
10 ft ceiling8–9 ft tree
Two-story entry9–12 ft big tree

Between sizes? Go with the shorter one. A tree that scrapes the ceiling is a hassle. A few inches of room never is.

Check the width

A Noble fir is widest at the bottom, and a taller tree is a wider tree. Before you come, look at the spot and what's around it: a couch, a doorway, a heater vent. Keep it away from that last one. A trick from our old blog: tape a circle on the floor the size you think you want and live with it for a day.

On the lot, every tree stands on its own so you can walk around it. Ask us and we'll measure the one you like.

Tabletop trees

Our 3–4 ft tabletop is $49. It fits on a table, an entry console or a kitchen counter. Grab a tabletop stand with it ($22).

Tall ceilings

For 10 ft ceilings and up, we bring in 9 to 12 ft Noble firs. There are only a few each year and they go first, so reserve one early. $150 holds your size. Taller than 12 ft? Ask us.

Get a stand that fits the trunk

A tree drinks about a quart of water a day for every inch of trunk width, so the stand matters as much as the height. We sell four sizes, $22–$56, and we'll match one to your trunk. Please don't whittle the trunk to make it fit. The outer layer is what does the drinking.

Still not sure?

Bring your ceiling height to the lot, or call (480) 202-6801 and we'll help you pick.
